Heat Health Alert: Services Continuing as Normal

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and the Met Office have issued a Red Heat Health Alert across many parts of England, including areas in which Provide Community services operate.

We are working closely with our services to ensure we continue to provide safe, high-quality care for our patients while supporting the wellbeing of our colleagues during the period of hot weather. Additional measures have been put in place across the organisation, including access to cold drinking water and other cooling measures where appropriate.

All Provide Community services and clinics will continue to operate as planned.

We encourage everyone to take sensible precautions during the hot weather by:

  • drinking plenty of fluids and staying hydrated
  • avoiding direct sun during the hottest part of the day (11am–3pm)
  • keeping indoor spaces as cool as possible
  • checking on older relatives, neighbours and anyone who may be more vulnerable to the effects of heat

People most at risk during periods of extreme heat include older adults, babies and young children, and those living with long-term health conditions.

If you feel unwell due to the heat, seek advice from NHS 111, your GP, pharmacist, or call 999 in an emergency.
