We are proud to share that someone we support in Worksop is a member of Our Dementia Choir, a nationally recognised initiative that brings people living with dementia together through music.
The choir has released a special charity single this Christmas, Brighter Than the Night, aiming to raise awareness of dementia and highlight the powerful role music can play in improving wellbeing. Singing is known to help people reconnect with memories and emotions, while also building confidence, connection and a strong sense of belonging.
For the individual we support, being part of the choir is about far more than performing. It offers pride, purpose and a meaningful way to stay connected with others. Being part of a community where their voice is valued has had a positive impact on their confidence and sense of identity.
